Just an observation

Putting aside politics and the obvious division between Democrats and Republicans, America is not moving forward as a "United" nation of different ethnicities. It reminds me of the divide between protestants and catholics in Ireland, where much has been done to bring the two religious groups together. Dissident groups still operate and incidents of violence against the police in Northern Ireland occur annually. Just as rioters in the States resurface from time to time to destroy buildings and loot shops. In Ireland, religion is the root cause; in America, race is the underlying cause. I can see no solution in either country.
