| "The image of the cosmos must change with the development of the mind and knowledge; otherwise, the mythic statement is lost, and man becomes dissociated from the very basis of his own religious experience. Doubt comes in, and so forth. You must remember: all of the great traditions, and little traditions, in their own time were scientifically correct. That is to say, they were correct in terms of the scientific image of that age."

| Love as passion; love as com-passion—these are the two extreme poles of our subject. They have been often represented as absolutely opposed—physical, respectively, and spiritual; yet in both the individual is torn out of himself and opened to an experience of rediscovered identity in a larger, more abiding format.

| Good question, LC. Having everything must be boring. My wife says she thinks heaven would be a boring place with nothing to do, assuming that heaven is real and as represented. |

| Sylvia Browne (famous psychic) describes heaven as a place where everyone continues to work and research just as they do here. In fact, she says people (here) who exhibit passions for certain areas of work or art are just continuing what they do on "the other side." |

| "What I think is that a good life is one hero journey after another. Over and over again, you are called to the realm of adventure, you are called to new horizons. Each time, there is the same problem: do I dare? And then if you do dare, the dangers are there, and the help also, and the fulfillment or the fiasco. There’s always the possibility of a fiasco. But there’s also the possibility of bliss."

| "When we accept that we cannot be in control, that we need not be in control, we can surrender to the superior wisdom of the Divine Story that is playing out in us and through us. That act of surrender is the ultimate act of wisdom: a recognition that the story knows best. Always."

| I think that is why so many readers are now writers. Reading someone else's imaginative outpourings is not the same as being carried along by the story into undiscovered realms. That discovery is what makes writing so pleasurable in a way that discovering the thoughts of others cannot match. The key is to keep in mind that the author's writing will not have the same effect on readers that it does on the writer. If it does, authors can consider themselves to be one among thousands of other writers. |

| When we truly let go, and get beyond the surface "stuff" in our heads (which always seems to come out first in "unconscious writing, we can hit thad deeper unconscious - the collective. I thing that the stories we write that connect most strongly with readers tend to come from there, and the stories are more likely to resonate with readers. |

| "Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend." - Melody Beattie

| "Eternity has nothing to do with the hereafter... This is it... If you don't get it here, you won't get it anywhere. The experience of eternity right here and now is the function of life. Heaven is not the place to have the experience; here's the place to have the experience."
