I heard these words...

"This guy is fantastic!"

Coming from the kitchen I asked, "What guy?"

There sitting in his recliner with the t.v. turned off was my husband holding a book. The book was by D. J. (Don) Stephens and was called Halo.

Our house has never been so quiet. The only sound is the turning of the pages as John gets closer to the end of the book. We are both sad about that point, but for different reasons.

I asked John if this book was as good as Death Rider and his comment was an emphatic, "Oh, yes!"

So, Don, you are going to have to hurry up with that sequel! I hope you have lots of time. If my husband has anything to say about it, you will be writing many more books for his pleasure.

I have never seen him so engrossed in reading! Thank you, Don!

I don't want to give you a big head, but....

Today i had a meeting with my Young Author's Club (ages 9 to 12) and my husband took Halo along. He sat outside in the car the whole time reading it. He never does that! He always goes inside. He never takes reading material anywhere.

He said it would make a good movie. Then he added, so would Death Rider.

We have been married over 28 years and this is a side of him I haven't seen before. I am loving it!
