I buy everything on sale, including stuff at Walmart. I'd been eyeing this swing in their garden section all summer, but didn't want to spend $189 on it. Saw it marked down to $85 yesterday and grabbed it up.

A new PC - last week. Couldn't post it on the day it was purchased. Transferring files and getting the kinks worked out took some time. Re-installing programs was a pain, but I think I'm finally back in business.

I bought nothing today. I am trying to reduce clutter in my house.

The last things I did buy were elegant soap pumps with a gift certificate
from my son and his wife.

A box of my favorite things from drugstore.com. Well, most of them. Some of these expensive items arrived today from ebay sellers, who deliver them fresh and sealed for 40% less. I've often wondered how they do it, if they're liquidating inventories or knocking off trucks. They have tens of thousands of feedbacks, so they've got a steady supply from somewhere.

Drugstore threw in a free beach towel for this order, I know not why.

My oldest daughter did the buying for me yesterday. She decided I needed a manicure and pedicure. She laughed for ten minutes at the pedicure her father gave me! So, she called the beauty shop I go to to arrange for payment, and later when I called, I have an appointment for 1:30 Tuesday. I have never had a "professional" manicure and pedicure. I will have beautiful toenails and fingernails, I think.

Carol, you will enjoy it! I'm surprised you've never had a professional mani/pedi.I think the best part of a pedi is the massage chair, lol.

I haven't been to one where an appointment is needed in years, there are so many walk-in salons now.

Watch for how antiseptic they are with their tools. I stay away from pedicures (I did have one a few years ago at a brand new spa, just opened that day) because they are nortorious for nail issues (I won't go into them).

Watch them carefully and check that their wash is fresh, their instruments come from alcohol baths and they should wear gloves.

After all that - enjoy. I still remember mine as a moment of total relaxation.

I loved my manicure and pedicure. My nails are gorgeous, and they also styled my "store bought" hair!

I bought a new thumbdrive. It cost $40 for 16 GB of storage. 16 GB! What's even more amazing is that this is a "U3" drive, which, from what I can tell, means I can actually run some software from it. I haven't tried that yet, though. I made the little bracelet attached. Hope I don't leave it somewhere.

Carol -it's geek jewelry! I was inspired by the convo DK and I had about a charm bracelet of thumbdrives and assorted computer parts. lol. Actually, I don't like wearing lanyards, which is how my co-workers carry these around. I made a bracelet for my ipod, too. The lobster claw clip enables me to switch out to a lanyard for when I work out.
