UNPLEASANT TOPIC

I was listening to the radio today (BBC Radio Four) and someone said that the number of people who paint has risen dramatically. She estimated that more watercolours must have been painted in the last decade than the total output of all the Victorian ladies. I couldn't help but compare this to writing. Painting, writing and playing a musical instrument are all fine as long as the unaccomplished don't try to force feed their outpourings onto anyone and everyone. Unfortunately, that is precisely what they do.

This is a problem to some published writers, but not to me. Without thousands of writers wanting to see their work in print, my work would still be sitting in a drawer at home. I'm glad it isn't.

I would hate to see my work eliminated.
I write to entertain others to bring joy and excitment into the lives of little and big folk.
If I'm denied an opportunity to bring a smile on someones face then a sad sad day has arrived.
