| Close your eyes, count to ten and take a deep breath. It may help. |

Good question" Do you have an answer, I don 't know.
A lot of people plan to write, just never get around to it.
I would guess that if you make you living by writing you are a writer
If you want to make your living writing and cannot, you are a wanta be
Nothing wrong with either situation. Writing can be a hobby.
Surgery is another matter. Most if us want a professional--not a hobbyist. You are a writer the instant you start writing. You are a professional if you get paid for your writing. |

| Joe, leave pape 30 for now. Start on a different chaper, or, even the last page. You don't have to write a story from page 1 to the end. I like doing the first, and last chapters...that way I always know where I'm going.
cturkel; I don't agree. Anyone can learn to write. No one can learn talent. A writer needs talent. It's what sets them apart. All others are want-to-be's.

| Dear Domenic,
I think you are right about knowing the ending before you begin to write a story. If you do not, you are rambling on without purpose. The writing process is to make an interesting and lovely story from your beginning to your ending. It is the in between that makes a writer a story teller. People say that they just start writing and the character's tell their own story. They cannot wait to sit at the keyboard to see what the character will come up with next. Such existential and supernatural processes are beyond me.
I do think that there is a level of consciousness and quiet and reverie that helps a person to put words on a paper without regard to scrutiny. That is important to me. Often, I write on this computer without the idea that someone will read my words with judgement. I just blab it on out. This message board is a sounder.
If no one wants to read my words, they do not have to. No one has to say a thing. But, I have blurted my words. There I am. Free of those words.
Love, Betty |

| All this browbeating that goes on over here is kind of a moot point when you're too busy doing that versus actual writing. Does anybody here write anything? I mean really? Or is it all about the publishers for the writing that doesn't get done? Hmmmm.... Think about it kiddos. I mean, really? I like Honey West and I like to write about sex too. Yes, I write. Looking to publish with Samhain for my current WIP. |
