"Republican Budget Chairman Paul Ryan just announced a
radical scheme that, according to Reuters’ reporting, would
“effectively dismantle the way most Americans receive medical
coverage,” leading “most companies to drop their employer-sponsored
plans.”

Apparently Republicans’ plan to end Medicare and
raise health care costs on seniors, while protecting tax breaks for Big Oil and
billionaires, wasn’t enough. Now they are going after health care for middle
class workers."

Abe, I don't think people have the capacity to register these attacks. They are swallowing the cool aid.

When you see what is already happening in Republican dominated state legislatures and you don't hear a revolt.

I think people are so mired in desperately hanging onto their jobs and their homes or struggling to find a place to live and a means to feed their families that they don't have the energy to fight the Republicans.

The Republicans have lots of energy - they have the power and the money. Lack of struggle equals lots of energy.

I think they might get a surprise. Old people can be quite fiesty. They might decide to raise taxes on the rich beforre they try to reduce beneifits on the elderly.

The rich have aging parents also and might even prefer to pay a higher tax.
