PostSubject: Finally!   Finally! EmptyWed Aug 24, 2011 8:53 am

It took all morning and half the afternoon to get Google Chrome set up the way I wanted it on my PC yesterday, and I was up until midnight working on the laptop before I gave it up for the night and went to bed. Back to work on it this morning and it is finally done.

You would think figuring it all out on one computer would make the next easier; but oh,no, we started ove with a whole new set of problems.

I am happier now, though. This works much faster and doesn't get hung up by Firefox's unresponsive scripts.

Now, if I could get McAfee to stop asking, "Whaat's wwroonngg, Aannn?' every time I try to reset its functions to the way I want them after it goes back to doing things its own way, maybe I can spend some of my time actually writing.

Computers - can't live with them, can't live without them. Finally! 733985

Yes, that was part of the problem. The yWriter software gets grumpy if I try to copy a file from any project folder to a different computer. It wants me to copy the whole folder, so, until now, I had to use a smart drive, because most browsers will only let you up-and download files into Google Docs, but Google chrome will let me upload the whole folder at one time. The more work I do on the book, the more time it was taking to keep the files up to date on both computers.

Whew!

It's Google's new web browser, Joe. It's much faster than internet explorer or firefox, and has more options, etc than safari, but getting it set up is a pain. I even went to the forum for people working on getting it to work, and found I wasn''t the only one having problems.

However, I have it going now, and have been very pleased. Once it is set up, it it easy to work with, and is very, very fast.

How do you like my new homepage?

That's one of the tricky bits, Joe. When you get it loaded, click on the little wrench, upper right corner, and scroll down to options, and click on that. From there, go to personal preferences, I think it is called, click on "download bookmarks," and follow directions for your choices. Good luck. If you have any more questions, post them, and maybe I can help.
