The Power of Positive Thinking

The power of positive thinking
is it the answer for us all?
It isn’t very powerful
if your thinking’s very small.

Think big the intellectuals cry
expand that noble brain.
But I’m no good at thinking big
I find it quite a strain.

I find thought confusing
It’s never what it seems
it’s hard enough to ponder life
let alone my dreams.

I think my brain’s short circuited
across the negative and pos.
I can never think important things
I just couldn’t give a toss.

A positive thought might hit me
if I wait about an hour
but then I’m quite exhausted
as it saps all of my power.

I think it drained away
When he took a shower
To start a clean new day.

I believe that there is power in thoughts, both positive and negative. Keep your thoughts positive. I like your poem.
Shelagh hit on something, wash/drain away the old and start with a clean new thouight each day.
