| I do not like to balance my checbook. It is so easy to say "later." I love to do other peoples books--just not my own. Are you that way? I had put it off for too long . Today I looked at it and decided I couldn't be bothered to try to figure out my lousy handwriting, so adjusted my balance to agree with bank and will carry on. |

| Dear Alice, I am with you on the self bookkeeping. I did other peoples books for so long that I could be quite fine never thinking about debits or credits or balances or retained earning or capital expenditure again! Other than that there is not much that I could say I really hate to do. Well, maybe picking off the rotten strawberries. That is getting up there with books. I have decided that the new crop will be giant jalapeno peppers. They are 6 inches long and one and a half in diameter. A warm weather specialty crop. Love, Betty |

| What do I hate to do?
It is usually not a matter of hate, but what I would rather not do. Things I try to avoid, i.e., irritating my wife. The rammifications are not pleasant. Other irritants would be: Reading poorly written material. In general, I dislike saying no. When my children were small, saying no was a frequent, but necessary event. I dislike controversy, yet I will often engage in debate. Life experience tells me that winning an argument is not always a positive thing. It also tells me that engaging in political and/or religious debates usually do more harm than good. People entrenched in their views rarely change.
I often dislike trying to explain my views. The End. |

| It is a long list for me so I just have to get on with it and pull a strained smile. Here is a small sample: I hate getting old. I hate my body falling to bits. I hate that every time I get to the top of the stairs I forgot what I came upstairs for in the first place. I hate it when I wet myself and realise that was what I went upstairs to pevent occuring in the first place. I hate standing in a long line at the bank and when my turn finally comes I realise I left my cheque book at home. I hate visitng customer services on the 7th floor and finding out the department that deals with my case is on the 9th floor of the building in the next town. I hate going to a car park and forgetting where I left the car. I hate standing in the empty car park realising I'd left the car at home and had travelled into town by bus and I had just missed the last one. I hate having to spend all day hiding from my grandchildren because the instructions on my medication says keep out of reach of children. |

I can relate to much of what you said, I think I've been exposed to that C - Nile Virus.

| There is one thing I hate, and that is to have an operation. I don't hate the hospital, the doctors and certainly not the nurses, but I do hate being cut into or needles stuck into me. I hate pain. |

| I can't look at needles when they are being inserted but after I'm fine. Does weird me out to see my blood flowing in a vial. |

| About growing old: my mother says she doesn't care for growing old, but it sure beats the alternative (death). Of course, my mother does eat healthy and does yoga and keeps her mind busy. So she's actually in pretty good health.
About funerals. I've not attended many. But the ones I did attend were for loved ones who had been through bad pain. While death is always hard, I am glad to know their suffering is over. I have my memories, so they aren't truly gone.
What I do I hate: Seeing unjust suffering inflicted on the innocent ... especially abuse inflicted on children and animals. Adults generally have a voice. Children and animals were put in our care and it is just wrong when we fail them. |

| I hate listening to bad/annoying music. And I hate it when the Greenbay Packers loose, or when the Chicago Bears/Vikings win. I also hate writer's block. |
