I still do my little bits on the piano.  I think that the music graph is nice.  I live like the notes on the lines, some times I am up there in the upper part of the scale in E sharp and sometime I am down  there where I do not recognize the signs of the notes of the music. It does not matter about my ability to play a tune...I still hear the music. I love that.
Love,
Betty

Your description is poetic.  I have a keyboard in my office.  I can play a song or two, but only in the middle registers.  I took piano lessons too many times to count.  My dad was a pro.  I thought it would just flow through my fingers.  I guess that's one gene I didn't get.

I loved piano when I first started taking lessons.  I had a teacher who make the learning fun.  She focused on pieces that were modern and had melodies that were well known.  Then, after a couple of years, she moved away, and I switched to a man was the music director for one of the churches.  He was very strict and regimented.  I had to play scales for an hour a day and play them perfectly before I got to play tunes, and them only classical. He didn't think popular music should be played on a piano.  I stuck it out another two years with him, but it wasn't fun anymore.  I stopped taking lessons the day he threatened to bring a nail clipper and cut my fingernails to the quick if I didn't do it myself.

Dear Anne,
I am sorry that you had such a person for a teacher.  If you had a wonderful teacher, you would be a concert piano player this day.  I believe it.
Love,
Betty

I kind of doubt it - I am not the owrld's most musically inclined person.  Playing for fun would be nice, though.

I played for my brother's memorial service.  I made certain it was happy music and  not dreary.
His daughter was the speaker and we  both made through. I am having a time accepting that he is gone and wishing that his life had been different.
What is is.

Betty, You inspire me I will practice now.  Thanks.
