In the Covey awards poll. I'd appreciate it. I'm sick of losing to idiot shirtless romance clips because they get all the votes from some menopausal, chocolate-munching coven.

I voted, but only because of your campaign promises. There is some weird stuff on that site.

One thing I notice when I see batches of vids like that (other than how badly some are done) is that they're all starting to look alike.

Professional book video makers (yes, Virginia) are mass-producing them and they all fall into this format as predicable as a rap video.

That's one reason I think my manual is good: it helps people make their own, and perhaps being some of their own vision or creativity to the table.

Or you could say it just teaches them to make stuff like all the rest.

Beleive it of not the entries in the Coveys has gotten HUGELY better over the last year. They used to have stuff on there that wouldn't quality as a refrigerator magnet.

I really liked your trailer, Lin, and I don't ususally take the time to view them--download time, you know. But I really felt yours was exceptional. Yes, I did vote on it!

I voted for you too Lin, and being on highspeed I checked out the competition. It was neat to see Rainbow's on there, I thought. Then I had a troubling thought...if publishing romance is a criteria for crappy videos then I will need a new genre.

Okay, Lin, you got my vote, too! It inspires me to get back to work on my own trailer using your manual.

I was surprised to see Rainbow's trailer up there. I wondered who submitted it, but then read how they take them in the order received. I guess it takes a few months to get one up there. I kind of remember him saying he was submitting it.

Anyway, I thought your entry was very well done and very different from the rest!

Yeah, it takes a while for a vid to get on the ballot, and sadly Rainbow's didn't make it in time.

I don't think romance is a requirement for crappy videos, Pam. (And I have to say, this batch is WAY better than some of the earlier ones...but most seem very "samey")

But the vast majority of vids in this contest have been for romance novels.
I might be that the majority of NOVELS are romance novels, particulary self-published novels.
