Too Much Healthy Living!

It occurred to me what is wrong with American medicine. It came to me as I waited for my doctor to enter the room.
Nothing can just happen anynore.
I need to have a battery replaced in my Deep Brain Stimulation System.
The surgery is simple, !/2 hour, but the pre surgery is a nightmare and costly

I have to answer zillions of questios such as:
"Do you smoke? Did you smoke? Do you drink? Did you drink?
Do you take iillicit drugs? "

It is downright embarasing to answer, " NO!"

I am going to say this time, " If only I had...."

Smoking prevents Parkinson's disease. Drinking is good for the heart and illicit drugs stimulate creativity.

We know too much and are afraid of everything.

This surgery is simple and far too costly when you add all the hoopla that attends it.
Our poor doctors are afraid of being sued.

Too true, but we love you, Alice, and want you to stick around. So, play a few games with them if it helps, but get it done and get back here.

remember the fun Dick poked at his doctor(s)? I think you have a good handle on your situation and know what you feel. Take it in stride. Tell the doctor, if he's not sure he knows what he's doing, then you're not so sure he should get paid.

It is time to live dangerously. We are going to eat out tomorrow-- Mexican food.
I recognize, " you are what you eat." but remember, "Man shall not live by bread alone."

Hope all goes well, Alice! Mmmmm Mexican food! That's a good start!
