Yes, there's now lots of chatter that this was a less than presidential move.

I've noticed that, too.  Fox News had an article to that effect.

Presidential or not, it seems a smart game play.  I think it is more than that, though.  It is an acknowledgement that the legislative branch has a right to express an official opinion.  The decision will still be up to the executive branch  I like the fact that he is taking time and weighing his options before making his decision.

Our lives and world might have been very different if England and France had not made the choice to try to check Hitler's advance back in the late 1930's.

I remember a line from one of my favorite films, "A River Runs Through It":  "The world is not a work of art."

At lest not yet.  We have to deal with the reality in front of us, and make difficult choices based on the maximum amount of knowledge and input available.

I pray that our president will make the choice that will be best for the future of the world at large.  I personally don't know enough to even guess, at this point, what that is.

It will be interesting to see what Congress does.

So many decisions are wealth oriented in spite of the humanitarian presenting reason.  Did you see the movie, "Blood Diamond?"

Several years ago, yes.  2006 or -7, as I recall.  I remember it most for the exploitation of young African men, used as virtual slaves in the diamond mines, and forced to become soldiers in a civil war.  It has been a while since I've seen it.

Wealth was being created for the already wealthy diamond industry and mercenary fighting units by creating situations that continued the warring among the people of the country.  The purpose in keeping the carnage at a high pitch was monetary.

Right.  Thanks for reminding me, like I said, it has been a while.

These super-wealthy policy-makers come from all over, it seems.  They appear to be connected - the theories are everywhere, and I believe, have at least an element of truth.  They apparently operate independently of governments, but are increasingly finding the means to control many of the government representatives in most countries.

Lately, though, more and more of them, and the puppets they control, are being exposed.

Such groups operate most effectively in secret.  The more they are exposed, the less power they will have.

Films like Black Diamond go a long way in helping that exposure.

State of Play is another film that gets into the workings of the powers that operate behind the government - controlling the media and promoting private military groups and their operations.

                       I can say this was a cunning move on his part, it's a way for him to get
                       out of that box he put himself into and he knows and we all know Congress
                       will never in their right minds give the okay for an attack on Syria ! That's
                       his way ove saving face, yet all over the wolrd leaders have lost their respect
                       for him and we have become the laughing stock of the world....Everyone knows
                       if we did it it would blow the lid off the middle east, Iran is just waiting and
                       drooling.....

I think it is his pure genius showing.  He also has displayed a great sense of humor.
His adversaries have given him no credit for anything and have diminished him for everything.   
Who  could care what they think?

                  If and when congress says "NO !," to invading Syria and he does it
                  anyway above their heads, there will be mass demonstrations by the
                  public across the nation and they will demand his impeachment.......
                  We have no business in Syria, period..

We had no business in Iraq either.  Did anyone call for the impeachment of Bush?

The news media is in a frenzy.  They, for sure, don't want a good outcome to anything.
Bad news sells.  Good news rots.
