         ( Chronic Pulmonary Disorder,) your body doesn't get enough oxygen,
         that's why high altitude is bad, I've met tourists here who faint because
         they come from lower altitude..Here's the story on High Altitude..

                                 I have to wait , I have a lease , my sister-in-law wants me to
                         move near her in NY State , that I have to ponder carefully because
                         she can be very opinionated , I don't want anyone to try to control
                         me , I already got rid of that friend I talked about before because it
                         got totally out of control.

When is your lease up?  It may be that they will allow you to break it with a doctor's  order.

Joe,
a lease isn't important when you're dead.  Do what is right for you and not to please someone else.

Leases can usually be broken if a new tenant is found and/or for a fee.  Choices are always a balancing act, aren't they?  You have taken lovely pictures where you are and the weather seems to appeal to you.  New York is such a change.  However, it is also important as we age to be near someone who cares.  I know I just could not return to snow unless I had a bushel of loved ones in my home to make it tolerable.

                  Upstate NY these past two years Winter has been brutal ! Here we get Winter
                  but not as brutal, where my sister-in-law lives if you had to go to the hospital
                  it's an hour away, here 15 minutes or less. Shopping by her is an hour away,
                  here 15-20 minutes depends where your going in town. There's so many factors
                  I have to weigh them.....Oh yes CPOD comes from smoking....

Busy; busy; busy. I poke my head in when I can. How are you holding up?

Tomorrow I have hours of testing  ( Beginning at 8:30)  The surgeon will be there observing part of it. We will see him at 12;00  and hear his ideas.

Sorry you have to go through all this and will continue to put positive thoughts out there...

I just poked my head in here too. Glad Abe's chest pain was NOT heart related. The heat can wreak havoc on our systems--drink LOTS of fluids. Good news after all. Still have my fingers crossed for Alice. As for Joe, as Ann notes we've had the discussion before, but my prematurely old brain can't remember: where in NYS are you thinking moving? Brooklyn again? Have you considered upstate (nice inexpensive places with huge natural beauty--but there's the snow to consider, for sure, or Long island with endless beaches and that New England feel still more affordable than NYC by far--especially an hour or more East of new York. There are also lots of nice havens in between. Orange County and Sullivan County still offer great value, nice unspoiled views and less snow though not an insignificant amount) than further North or West within less than two hours from Manhattan. Brooklyn is pricey in most places that are safe neighborhoods--likewise Queens close to Manhattan and forget about Westchester County. There's a site I like for ratings and reviews of places to live from people that live there (city-data.com).

Thank you all for your concern.  The family atmosphere here is comforting.

The heat is a real issue.  People are dying from heat exhaustion/strokes.  We are having extreme heat just now.  Warinings are given on TV, however many choose to ignore them.  I see people jogging in the heat.  They think that they are immune until they become victims.

Thank you , All.  l  do not need to have  surgery now will have swallowing therapy beginning tomorrow. 
God is good--the first doctor would have injected me with Botox.

Good news, Alice.

Whew!  What a relief.

More good news:  I was hospitalized and  tested extensively, the  heart was fine and the liver perfect.
They have me on nerve pain medicine and going off the codeine should help swallowing. 

God is very good and I appreciate your care and concern.

I hope  Joe  moves soon.
