I am currently reading the paperback version of A Myth in Action: The Heroic Life of Audie Murphy by our own Ann Levingston Joiner (available at

which arrived less than 48 hours from my order date and was shipped free of charge
courtesy of my Prime account. So far, I've gotten through the first 100+
pages, or approximately one-third through the book and am enjoying it
immensely. I'll post a full review here and at Amazon when I've had a
chance to read and digest it fully. It really is a terrific book that is
well written, well documented and goes well beyond any single biography
you may have read about this complicated, unique American hero. The
book is available in both paperback and Kindle versions which are
terrific bargains--at any price. More on this at a not too distant date.

I'm still reading A Myth in Action. End of year reports, my research agenda and life in general have not allowed me to finish the book yet, but I will write a review here, on Amazon and on Goodreads when I complete the book. I have already given it five stars on Amazon after reading half of the book when Amazon sent its after-purchase rating reminder. And I've also already given it five stars in my Goodreads library without a formal review. It is a terrific read from a unique perspective with a loving, well versed guide. If anyone reading this has not bought the book, please do so--or nag your local library to put it on its shelves. You won't regret it.

I liked it, too, while I was writing it. Still do, mostly, but am trying to get readers refocused on my current fiction, which does not have the pre-existing audience the first book had.

Redstone's Valley was downloaded over 200 times in two days. I doubt that those downloads will result in increased sales for it, specifically. What I am hoping for is just a bit of outside approval that will help to keep me committed to finishing Daniel's Daughter before too long, and that maybe there were enough readers who downloaded RV who liked it well enough to be willing to pay for its sequel.

As happy as I am that it is selling well, and as appreciative as I am of the praise for it, it is my past. I am presently working on a fictional concept that has been working in my head for nearly a quarter of a century.
