Phil Whitley ~ Wordseller

Words are an important part of effective communication. Dictionaries and
encyclopedias are full of them – but they are presented in a dry, alphabetical
order. My new concept is to offer words in a more entertaining fashion.

I sell words arranged in a unique style that forms sentences. I further this ordering
by arranging the sentences into paragraphs, and the paragraphs into chapters.
The chapters are then carefully sequenced so that the end result is an
entertaining story – frequently called a “book”.

By selling words in this manner, I can offer the buyer a discounted rate, as
follows:

A’s, and’s and the’s are absolutely FREE!

By using this method, I can offer you the remaining words for only 2 and one-half
cents (US) for every one hundred words!

(Example: 80,000 words would cost only twenty (US) dollars!)

This special offer expires soon, so get your order in today— and not only get a
great deal on words, but enjoy them in this unique style of presentation!

I just had the horrible thought that some may think that was a serious post. LOL - but it did get me thinking...

What prompted it was considering the fact that people just don't read books like we did "back in the day".

Thanks Phil! When I get out my calculator to work out how much I owe each contributor to the anthology, I'll remember the going rate is 2.5 cents per hundred words.

But now I find myself thinking, "Well, that's another 2.5 cents worth," after every hundred words I write.

Kinda depressing...maybe I shouldn't give away the a's, and's and the's...

Thanks, Zada. My next "thinking outside the box" idea is to write a
book in cryptogram. You know, where you substitute letters. When we
were kids, my brother and I used to look for those in the Sunday paper
every week. A whole book's worth would have been like Christmas!

Next I may work up a crossword puzzle with words taken from Keechie. The only way to solve it would be to read the book first. Smile

Phil: The crossword puzzle just may work. I like crosswords but the one in TV guide defeats me because so many of the clues are who plays who in some show, and if I don't watch the show, I really don't have a clue. I do better with the New York Times crossword and their weirdly worded clues because they do make you think.

We are thinking alike, Jim! I just came back here to say that the more
I think about it, the crossword thing is a pretty good idea to put on
your book's website. The clues alone may be a draw to gather interest
in the book.

There are free on-line puzzle-makers where you list the words and clues
- and it designs the puzzle. I made a lot of them when I was
homeschooling my daughter.

Betty, this would be great for your Wooffer page - and as handouts for the readers!

Here's one: http://puzzlemaker.discoveryeducation.com/

for more, just Google "puzzlemaker"

I think I may just throw the box away. I haven't been in it for years...

Abe, readers who THINK? What a concept!
