Now it's Black Thanksgiving ! Employees threaten strikes

Retail has gotten so out of hand, now the greedy bastards are opening on

Thanksgiving, many employees upset they can't spend time with their families !

I blame the public, buying on Black Friday is insane, second you can get great

sales all year long, here's an interesting article to read, oh yes Walmart employees

are spreading the word to strike ! I signed a petition to stop BLACK THANKSGIVING !

I agree, Joe the whole thing is nuts!

I just signed it--1999 to go.

The whole thing bugs me.

My 92 year old mother-in-law who walks with a walker loves it. It scares me to death to think of her tottering about in that frenzy. She saves any money given her as a gift to spend at Fred Meyer on Black Friday. She buys socks for everyone for Christmas. They are not special or cute just Fred Meyer socks on sale.

One year a woman grabbed the socks right out of her hand.

I have never been to a Black Friday shopping event. They have always started wayyyy too early for me. However, this year I was actually considering it.

Not sure if I would sign a petition like that. For example, I have a friend - she is single, her son is stationed overseas and she is looking forward to working on all of the holidays, because she wants to receive that overtime pay.

Also, Walmart is known to be a 24/7 store. If I would apply to work at a store that is known to be open 24/7... I would probably expect to have some of my work days fall on a holiday.
