| I'm spending Thanksgiving with my daughter, her husband and my two grand kids. The turkey is in the fridge waiting for attention. I am thankful to be here with them. Betty, I'm thankful to know you and that you're still with us. I wish all of you a very happy family gathering and good food to go with it. |

| Victor/Dan,
I envy your memories. I miss my departed in-laws and parents, but not at Thanksgiviing. They were not a congenial group to have together and frayed my nerves.
I would work like a dog getting the house perfect which was not easy with two children.
Thanksgiving mornng my folks would arrive toting boxes of food--sugarless pies with whole wheat pastry etc.
I would begin the potatoes and Mom would say I was peeling them too much
My brother would start yelling that I should not peel the potatoes at all just mash them with the skins on.. Then when I mashed them Mom said I put too much butter on them.
No matter what I did, it was wrong.
It was very tiresome. My brother would rant and rave about --sugar, communism, Jews etc. Not fun! |

| Quoted by our own Malcolm Campbell on his Facebook page: - Quote :
- "Thanksgiving dinners take eighteen hours to prepare. They are consumed in twelve minutes. Half-times take twelve minutes. This is not coincidence." - Erma Bombeck
