So like how does this Author Central work?
Do I increase my number of friends/contacts for my book to be exposed?

Anyway, I've already added as many tags as I can for my book. I've probably reached the maximum number of tags I can add for it.

Author Central doesn't work until you have a presence. You gain a presence by driving customers to Amazon to look at your book in the hope that they will buy it. It's a hard slog.

The first step is learning those other ways. After that, it becomes about doing the work of implementing them.

There are people here who have used the means successfully, and are generally willing to share what has worked for them, but the actual work is up to each of us individually. I'm still learning, myself.

Your book is print-on-demand, right? That means a third party can buy it and resell it at a higher price. They wouldn't even have to buy it until or unless they actually had a buyer. They could then order the book and send it directly to the buyer.

Go to the site and see if it appeals to you. I joined. Just more exposure. Anyone can set up such a site to collect a few pennies if anyone buys a book from their site.
