Greetings zizban,
Raising and training the horses for trail-riding has been a wonderful experience. My wife does the riding and I do the barn work.
She has 14 trophies for cross-country accomplishment.
I'll look for your novels - as I love to read.
Take care and Happy Trails

Thank you!
When I first saw the horseman in the RSS feed I didn't know what to expect. Pretty cool.

Hello zizban,
Sometimes I'd go up on the trail rides and jump the rig. That means I'd move the truck/trailer/camper and my wife would ride the trail. That way the camp was set up when she rode in.
Interestingly the horses speak to one another when one is as far out as 3 - 4 miles. They'd whinny back and forth - and when my wife would enter camp she'd give her horse it's head and it'd know where I'd parked.
There were as many as 300 rigs sometimes so finding where I'd parked would not have been easy w/o the horses communicating

My wife went on a 10 day horse safari in the Serengeti National Park, Kenya, Africa. These are some of the pictures she took (or were taken of her)

Earlier this Spring my wife Patty and I were at the breakfast nook table watching hundreds of Robins on our front lawn. Suddenly she said, "Jim look a really big Robin is sitting over there on the fence post."
On closer inspection, Patty’s really big Robin turned out to be a red shouldered hawk.
This morning I was out mowing the lawn and Patty’s really big Robin came by and sat on a fence post not 25 feet from where I was. I kept mowing - but it paid me no mind.
That was neat!

I lived in Muskegon, Grand Rapids, Rochester and West Branch, Michigan. The lakes and rivers are very special there. It was a great place to be a child or an adult who loves the outdoors.

Shelagh..
It's funny I haven't seen him since, thank God Dusty wasn't out at the time, I don't know if he would have attacked her ! The day before an owl showed up sitting on the fence, I wasn't quick enough to get my camera and get his picture...
