I don't care what is it as long as it is not boring and dull.

| I get stuck four times a day. Self-inflicted. You get used to it. Your pain comments about sticking the nurse reminded me of my dentist. He said a lady patient sat in his chair and when he sat down to work on her teeth she reached over, grabbed him in a unmentionable place, squeezed gently and said, "Now we aren't going to hurt one another, are we?" I think he was making it up. |

| Al,
I think he made it up too--the clue is he called her a " lady." Dead give awayl |

| Al, I think the patient had the right idea - even if it was made up. |

| I often thought if a man's prostrate exam was like a woman's mammogram a new mammogram method would have been created long ago. No man would put up with being squeezed between two plastic plates repeatedly. |

I don't think being prodded up the butt by a Doctor repeatedly is any better either, but we don't complain (till now)! Why do prostrates have to be in such an awkward place?

| "...ok here's my take on needles..." started the goblin now, thanking alice for the thread then, continuing "...simply the inside of the nasal cavity doesn't sense pain, so if some doctor could come up with a very short needle on the end of a maneuverable tube that doubles as a webcam, he could do as many injections as he likes and no one would fear it, just think of dialysis machine, or taking blood then, yes, talking to doctors to date, there are problems but they are not insurmountable, and if it results in getting more blood donations than at present, it is something well worth looking into..." |

| Well I am one up on you all!
How would you like to have a doctor check your abdominal incision and order it ripped open?
After that was done they packed it with white gauze. The blood was oozing. They brought my lunch--tomato soup.
I said, "I have lost my appetite."
They said," Eat your lunch."
I said, "Good bye I am out of here, I am petrified of a hospital infection."
It took only 7 weeks for Dave to get the incision closed.

| There's got to be a better way. If we continue to think on it, perhaps we'll come up with something.
David mirrored my thoughts. A Prostate exam is ugly. Perhaps that's why many men don't get one and then suffer the consequences.
My wife got a mammogram several weeks ago. They saw a spot on the Xray, and after further examination, said it must be removed. She will be operated on on April 7th. They think it may be a calcium deposit. Since it should come out anyway, they didn't take a biopsy. Won't know the results until after the operation. |
