| Let's talk about something interesting. What shall it be?
I don't care what is it as long as it is not boring and dull.
Any ideas are welcome. If you don't like the subject, change it. No bullying please.
Did you like being a child or an adult better? Did you like you mother better than you dad? Why? |

| 3/25/2011 Alice.. We can talk about art, photography, gardening, pets, I'm tired of world politics. We can talk about old Hollywood now that Elizabeth Taylor has passed away. I'll start first... Gardening Even though they claim it's Spring, it's still very windy and chilly here, yesterday I had to wear my sheepskin coat, brrrrrrrrr. I've noticed in the Garden Miss Kim the Lilac is coming out ( that's the one Dusty is in love with.) The original old fashion Lilac is coming out too, I hope it flowers, I planted it last year. I don't think the Azaleas made it , they look sad.. Cheers..Joe.. |

| So, we can say something silly here? I like the idea of gasoline dancing on a mud puddle. |

| I can't ever remember being a "child," in a true sense of the word. I still miss my dad. You don't want to get me started on my mother again.
I like hearing about people's travels, getting glimpses into their books, learning about getting published (don't say much because I don't know enough, but I listen to what's being said), sharing philosophical ideas.
Any conversation where we can bounce our ideas off each other, whether it's about our writing, our day-to-day problems/solutions, our hobbies, our grandchildren.
Disagreeing agreeably - "Here's what I think; what do you think? That's an interesting concept; I'll give it some thought. Where did you learn about it?"

| Thank you all, for your refreshing posts.
I like being an adult. My dad was the most fun for me. My mother was not. She made me eat food I didn't want. My dad would buy ice cream and relax. Mom worked non-stop.
She liked my brother, My dad liked me. I loved them both but liked my dad also.
I like Ann's idea of discussing things. No one needs to be WRONG or RIGHT! An exchange of ideas is always educational and welcome.
Joe,
Your Dusty is beautiful and I am glad you have her.
David,
You are so clever-- a ditty for every occasion.
Shelagh,

| I was reading Dick's post yesterday. I remember when he was on AW. Many of the members there joined, and tried to flame him. With just a few words, Dick turned it around, and had them eating out of his hand...I sure miss the guy, Domenic |

| Domenic,
Sorry about the hat, but it covers a multitude of sins. I had to have half of the brain surgery redone and they shaved my head bald! Then the new leads slipped and I had a rerpostioning surgery--they messed up my hair again!
Good thing I never relied on my looks to get me anywhere. |

| A model was not doing well in her field. She shaved her head, and became a star. Who knows darling…we just might see you walking down a New York runway. I’m glad you’re okay. Hair grows back. It’s the person under the hair that matters. |

| I'd like to talk about needles. I hate being stuck with them. Needles are used to inject fluids and also to take fluids out, like blood. This morning I got stuck again. When I expressed my dislike of needles to my wife, she said, why don't you invent something that won't hurt. I thought about blood suckers/leeches that suck blood painlessly. An idea I had that will not be acceptable, is to have the patient stick the nurse or doctor in the same manner they get stuck. It could cause them to exercise more care.
There are lots of people who know how to inflict pain. Some do it with words. Any ideas on how to reduce or eliminate the pain of needles? Perhaps we can invent something, and then write about it. |

My mother was 32, I was ten, he was a great step-dad. Abe...I agree with you, I've always hated needles ! As I call it when I get my blood sucked they do two tests, one is a tube to see if my HDT's it's the number for your red blood cell count mine was high 5 weeks ago 61 , now it reads 54 . A technician told me about taking Cinnamon capsules, I researched it, it lowers the thickness of blood Mine is too thick and I produce too much. It also helps with your blood sugar and cholesterol, so I'll know next Wednesday if it goes down past 54 !
Cheers..Joe |

Alice..
What I have has nothing to do with Cholesterol, What I have comes from the bone marrow it produces too much red blood cells, so rather than take blood thinners( My brother was on those, he was checked twice a week) he has me take the blood test and if the the number is too high they take 250cc blood, a half a pint to make the numbers go down...
Cheers..Joe |

| The eye doctor did an Angiogram. She tried to inject the colored fluid in my arm at the elbow and wasn't successful. Then she forgot to release the tourniquet before removing the needle causing the blood to spurt. Dumb. She then used the back of my hand to insert the needle and fluid. Now my hand is black, blue, green, yellow and its sore. As the blood pumped through my veins a bright light was shone into my eyse so she could watch the flow.
I'm to go back in three months for another go. Yeah, sure, but I'll request a different doctor.
I was in the Medical Corp in the USAF. I gave shots and took blood. I know when it is done properly. I have stories of foul ups. They do occur, usually through incompetence.
Anyway, I'll continue to think of ways to replace needles. Certainly in this day and age there should be a better way, or at least done painlessly and competently. |
