According to various articles, dtd 4 March 2011 (see Note 1: and other sources listed by Google - including CBS News) -

scientists (quote) "Looking for signs of ancient human settlement, they unearthed meticulously-crafted spearheads and other tools (see photo at right) that date back 12,000 years and provide insight into the lives of a seafaring culture that obtained bounty from the ocean. The astonishing discoveries, at three sites on Santa Rosa and San Miguel islands west of Santa Barbara .." etc.

Seems they have no idea who might have fished there:

But if someone could spare the bus fare we could have these "scientists" visit the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History (Note 2) where they could learn about the Chumash who came to the SW California shores 13,000 years ago and who fished around the off shore islands! (Note 3)

PLEASE NOTE: Known Chumash sites (stated on the Museum website) are on Santa Rosa Island (Arlington Springs 13,000 BP), and an Miguel Island

The cultures that lived in the world so many centuries ago are amazing in their sophistication. We think we know so much; we've so much to learn; even as simple as communication among the science communities.

Yes I agree!

But if scientists have their way DK we’ll never know the truth.

By example the articles specifically say these artifacts were found on (Santa Rosa and San Miguel Islands.)

While the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History specifically states that known Chumash sites are (guess where?) - you guessed it - on Santa Rosa Island c13,000 years ago; and San Miguel Island c11,000 years ago

And please note - the articles do not mention the Chumash!

I'm not much into proving the Bible right or wrong; but I thoroughly enjoy a channel on my DISH where archeologists try to find biblical places to prove the literal translation of the Bible. When they talk about how the artifacts were made, it's amazing. Also, the organization of civilization into fortified cities, etc.

Think about our throw away society today; if they dig up artifacts thousands of years from now, all they'll find is radioactive soil.

dkchristi "I'm not much into proving the Bible right or wrong"

James) proving the Bible right or wrong would engage emotions that are sometimes best left alone! IMO
