| This mean disease takes too many people. We are powerless to do anything about it.
It sucks.

| Carol amd Tom had a beautiful life together.
I am so sorry that it is like this now.
Cancer is horrible. Lane was lucky-- Pneumonia got him fast. Cancer is so scary, if one is lucky enough to get over it, there is always the fear of it coming back. Carol had so much to offer. We miss her good advice. |

| After last night's message, I'm wondering if the best way for us to help Carol at this point might be to let her go, to say goodbye, and focus our prayers on her making a peaceful transition.

| Life is fragile. Carol has always been a spiritual voice in my experience. Her beautiful spirit has carried her through this difficult time in her life and those of her loved ones and friends. It is without understanding why dear people suffer disease. Whatever is spiritually right in her life is what I wish for her. Her words have always had a positive impact in my life. |

| I'm actually at a loss for words. I feel very sad. It seems often the most precious people whom we come to care most about are the ones to suffer undeservingly. In the past few years since first meeting her on the boards, Carol Troestler has often been a mentor to me, always kind, resourceful, positive, uplifting and soothing to read her posts and her wisdom portrayed through them. She made a difference in my life.
Carol's in my thoughts and prayers.

| I've only posted here a couple of times recently, and that was for what I thought was something special. I'd like to add that my prayers are with Carol and Tom, and the rest of their family, as they face this terrible event. Carol has been a truly gracious lady, and even though we didn't always agree, we had a mutual respect for each other that said we didn't have to agree to be friends. It will be a sad day when Tom finally loses the love of his life, for him, for their family, and for all of us who have come to know Carol on these book threads. She is a talented and passionate writer, and there has never been any doubt as to her character and her true love of life and her caring for her family and friends. I sincerely hope that Tom can relay to her the love that the people here have for her, and that she knows that her life has made a difference to many. Harpe |

| Dear Don, Thank you for saying it so well. It seems years ago that I met Carol on the PA message board. She and I talked about social writing, like letters we write to friends, how it was kind of lost in the hoopla of message boards and egos. She began to write those kind of posts, the warm and full of love and honesty kind of post and signed them, "Love Carol" I loved that, too. I loved Carol from her first post. She is forever a part of me. God bless Tom and keep him from hurting so much. Love, Betty |

| This sad news about Carol is heartbreaking. I truly believed that she would beat this and come back to the forum. Carol has always been kind, helpful and supportive. Her loving heart and the knowledge she shared with all of us was a blessing for the short time we had her with us.
My thoughts and prayers are with Carol and Tom and their wonderful family.
Love you, Carol!

| Yes, the early days at the PA message board brought together a small group of people who found a connection in spite of the "noise" about. Carol's voice was always tempered by a beautiful spirit. She certainly enriched my life. |

| It just occurred to me the PA message board folks should be informed of her condition. Who can/will do it? |

| Dear Helen, Thank you for posting on the PA board. I posted a response to your post. I hope that many of the old authors remember Carol and post a kind thought. Here is my response to your post. Since it is mine, I feel I can post it here. Posts: 5823

Dear Helen and Curt,
I love Carol Troestler. She writes beautifully. Her books here are Flow On Sweet Missouri and Iowa Born and Bred. She has many other books by other publishers, and a lovely children's book, Now Is Once Upon A Time. She has books written that arenot yet published but viewed with great interest.
But her greatest legacy to this life she will leave behind is the love she showed to everyone, the concern and care she gave to people she never met , and her family that she loves without bounds.
Any one interested can do a search on this site for her posts. Carol Troestler is one of a kind.
I am sorry that Publish America has become so shallow. It was better when the new authors felt friendship and joy and encouragement each to each. Now, it seems cold and desolate. a dog eat dog place where no one cares about another author at all.
God bless Carol and her family this night.
Love, Betty
