| I thought about writing it at all. But, here it is.
My David's dad has passed on. It was Sunday. The whole family has been consumed with the grief of it, the planning, the hope for the heaven.
No money, but they would like to honor the old pa.
Funerals cost for every detail of them, from the opening of the parlor doors to the laying down in the plot. It is all built on the emotion and grief of the ones who have not planned.
Love, Betty |

Dear Betty & David..
I'm so very sorry for your and David's loss. I know what funerals cost, 20 years ago when my Mom passed away it cost $4,500- that was for a normal funeral, no limos. no flower car. The grave costs at that time $3,500 Thank God my step-father was a vetran.....
Love Joe |

| This poem has various claimed origins, including Native American Prayers but has been confirmed as originating with Mary Elizabeth Frye. For me, it is comforting and resonates with my beliefs. Therefore, I don't desire a big farewell; a simple memorial or no memorial is sufficient. Those who loved me will carry their piece of my spirit in the memories. Let me slip quietly into the mystery, with little fanfare and no wasting of money unless it a comfort to the living.
My heartfelt condolences to you and your family, Betty. Thank you for sharing this difficult time with us.
Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am in a thousand winds that blow, I am the softly falling snow. I am the gentle showers of rain, I am the fields of ripening grain. I am in the morning hush, I am in the graceful rush Of beautiful birds in circling flight, I am the starshine of the night. I am in the flowers that bloom, I am in a quiet room. I am in the birds that sing, I am in each lovely thing. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there. I do not die.

| Thank you all for your kind hearts. I am not used to death, I have let dying slide on by. Your kind wishes mean a lot to me.
DK, I have that same poem saved for my demise. I believe it. I will print it for David and I think it will comfort him some. The living have to have something to hold on to. The letting go is hard. All of a sudden, life is the fragile thing that it is. But life demands that we do not think that way.
Life has to go on. It is in the great plan. People live, they do what they do, they pass on and other people live and do what they do and pass on. Eternal life.
Love, Betty |

| Dear goblin, You have a way with thoughts. I often think of the hologram of the head in the haunted castle at Disney World. It is in a globe of lazer light. It talks on without a body. Perhaps that is what the attraction of the internet is. Our brain out on display without any trappings of age or the infirmity of body. Pure thought, in a way, without emotions and qualifying agenda.
Thank you for your words.
Love, Betty |
