| The eye for an eye thing is ancient Torah law. Pre-Christian.
The quote by Christ that would clear things up would seem to be ""But I say to you, do not resist an evil person; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.".
And "But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you"
That old testament stuff is not really applicable to those who would follow Christian teachings. It's typical tribal paranoia that survives to this day in the very similar codes of traditional Muslims and Jews. |

| I went the ant and considered its ways. Then I ran around aimlessly at top speed all day and ate a cockroach. |

| Well, this started with a reference to God. Which got sidelined with old/new testament and Jesus talk.
I'm not sure any of us know exactly what God meant, or which testament He (She?) prefers. |

| 4/20/2010 Abe.. The politicians in the USA screwed up Social Security by adding other programs to it , I'm 62 and I collect SS, I've worked for 44 years, so the money I paid in I deserve. The politicians borrow from it, it's suppose to be sacred, never touched, but as everyone knows they put their hands in the cookie jar, decades ago and their still doing it. Also by 16 million people being out of work creates a shortage, so far no jobs , to me, it's getting to look like 1929 , people are loosing their houses because they can't pay the high mortgage , the prices were inflated , so if you bought a house for $300,000- and today it's only worth $175,000- your still paying the mortgage for the first price, it's insane... Cheers..Joe |

I hope not, anyway. |
