| Dear Domenic, I think that the sea is the garden of the future and the past. It is not many who can watch that garden grow or plant it, or admire it every day. You are a lucky man.
Joe, I really do admire old fashioned roses. The one's who have lovely roots, grow no matter what. They do not have all the petals of the tea or hybrid roses, but, they last and grow and are beautiful. Hedge roses, climbing roses. All from some wild stock. I love those. Simple flowers.
I love weeds. Not so much in my yard, as down the road. I walk and take a book to identify plants that interest me. I have learned a lot about the weeds that grow here. They are small, beautiful flowers. I have an eye glass that I can look at them up close. How beautiful the world is!
Love, Betty |

| I have one climbing rose, only because it survives without my help. I used to have all kinds of rosebushes, but gave up on them, as they're just too high-maintenance. They rot, they get those bugs, you need to put powder or spray on them all the time -forget it. Re seaweed, I eat it all the time, wrapped around sushi and white rice! |

| LC, I know that seaweed. It is green and like rice paper thin, it stinks like the scum from a dried pond. My stepson, Kenneth is Japanese and his mom sent it to him all the time. PEEEEUUUghhh. He loves that stuff.
Have you tried the parsely tea?
Take a half a cup of dried parsley and nuke it in a cup of water. Drink and eat it and you are good all night long. Awake that is, not testifying to mental condition in the morn. It may be the new street drug. Not as aromatic as oregano, but more powerful, so they say.
There is the rumor about dried shrimp, too. That is only if you do not care how you smell or with whom.
Love, Betty |

| Dear Lin, You make me smile.
When Kenneth would get the box of stuff from his mom from Japan, he and his dad, my David, all of a sudden developed antennae and snerfed and smacked their way through that stuff. She sent so much we put it in zip locks in the freezer and even then it smelled up the whole fridge. Oh, they made rice balls and wrapped them up so nice, but it all smelled like green algae to me. Tell me about being a baby in Japan.
Love, Betty |

| Like LC, I used to love roses in my gardens but they became too expensive and high maintainence. I am now a big fan of all types of daylilies, and they are everywhere! Buy them small (cheaper), and by the end of the summer they are huge, no thanks to my neglect. And they come back every year, more beautiful than ever! |

Have you tried the parsely tea? No, I drink lots of green tea. The antioxidants are good for you, so they say. If you put enough Splenda in, it kills the taste. |
