I’m going to leave the forum for a while. I may come back, and I may not. There are only a few members who post, and I seem to have been given the deep freeze.
Since I have been a member I have asked for advice, and have given advice back.
I’m a pretty smart guy. Some may not think so, but I am. I was a Navel Architect for many years, and have also worked in marketing. I have managed some big companies, and have also owned some.
Over the past ten years I have made a study of the Publishing Industry here in the States, and pretty much up on how they run, and why they run the way they do.
I’m not a bad writer. I may not be the best, but I know mistakes when I see them. Very few members want any advice on their work. I don’t know why, unless they believe they need no improvement. I know I’m not going to waste my time giving comment where it’s not wanted.

I have appreciated many of your posts. I am always sorry to see a person leave the forum. Diverse views are important.

Dear Dom,

You have a lot to offer. You are a free spirit. I love your painting.

I know deep in my being that every one is unique in what they see as reality.

Like you, everyone sees a different world of thought or vision looking out their eyes or mind.
We are two different poles in the writing would. That does not mean that I cannot appreciate you.

I wish you would upload your books, long or short on Smashwords.com
and let the chips fall. It is a good place to see if anyone appreciates your stories.


Being your own publisher has it's avantage. Out of every dollar the customer pays, I get .76 cents from Smashwords.


Publishing there can only advance your quest for the New York Time. I predict that short ebooks at a small price is the way of this future that not many of us fully understand

Work on your great novel that you will send off to agent for the big publishing house, but in the mean time, write some short thing that you can publish on Smashword, Amazon and the rest. When you finally send your great novel off to the agent for the NYT, you will have a following.
