I think this is part of the growing pains in a changing publishing world. Unfortunately, the author gets caught in the middle and is the big loser.

And just one more reason authors need to communicate ideas as well as friendships. We need to stick together with information.

But that's exactly who dictates prices. You go to a store, they tell you how much the stuff costs. The publisher controls wholesale costs. If they want to sell their books for more, raise their net. I just don't understand why the book business gets things so turned around and screwed up.
