| After doing almost no live events during the year, I have decided to get back out and do some more signings. I did one two weeks ago that went well and have 3 lined up. I will try to do ten before the end of January to kick start book sales: Jokaes A A Bookstore 3223 W. Camp Wisdom Road Dallas, Texas 75237 December 5, 2009 -3-5 PM
The Dock Bookshop 6637 Meadowbrook Dr. Fort Worth, TX 76112 December 12, 2009 3-5 PM
Barnes and Noble 1612 South University Fort Worth, TX 76107 December 12, 2009 7-9 PMI think I burned myself out in 2007 with too many distant and spread out events at the end of the year. I only did two signings in 2008. I think that signings are great to build name recognition but they can wear you down over time. If i was a full-time writer it would not be no problem but with a regular job and events on the weekend it can become tiring.

Filling out the "required reading" form for next semester's bookstore order, heh. |

| I agree about 2007. Mine wasn't quite as long a list, but it was a lot for the time I had. I spent 2008 writing, and now Ghost Orchid is actually a fun book to promote; yet, just changing day jobs has sapped a lot of energy. I had a book signing at B&N Naples, FL and have one scheduled for North Shore Books in North Muskegon, MI. I'm working on an actual launch with Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary in Naples, FL. in early 2010. At the moment, I've been reaching out to online venues and working my marketing plan that demands I do something promotional at least weekly. I agree that book signings support the sales, as much by the advertising as by the actual event, especially if you schedule them in advance. DT, do you announce your signings and events on booktour.com? |
