| I just finished clearing about 8 or 10 inches of snow from my driveway. It was the unpleasent heavy wet variety. I hate it when it snows this late in the season. I'm looking forward to summer! |

| Better prepare you for the Scottish summers Pam -- summer arrives July 16th. Autumn arrives July 17th! When Frank Dick, former Director of Coaching for British Athletics, was Scottish coach he explained the difficulties of training in Scotland to a group of visiting coaches by saying, "In Scotland we have nine months winter and three months bad weather." ... and that's in a good year! Gordon, snow is predicted here for the weekend, so there's no escape for us either! |

| Shelagh in Alberta we used to refer to the seasons as fall, skiing, great skiing and construction. Anyone who did not ski (me included) never thought it was that funny, so we used to list them in the traditional sense: fall, winter, spraing and construction. Here in Nova Scotia for my first year it's been more like a glorious fall, early winter followed by a late spring, but I really don't mind. If I did mind and stayed in because of it, I'd never get out! Instead I adapted my hair style, bought a couple of fun hats and good jacket! Now if I could just remember where I stuffed the umbrella... |

| LOL! Pam, stuff the umbrella -- unless it's one of these: Cheers! You'll love it in Scotland -- you have all the right equipment! Ooooooo the innuendo.... |

| 5 points for Shelagh on that one! When it is like this out, it doesn't bug me , I just like to avoid this ! I cannot wait to get to Scotland. I saw pictures of the Falkirk Wheel and am really seriously considering it...just need a way to write it off and sell some books while there... |

| Yeah, really hot!
The furniture van broke down in the middle of cone-city (a contraflow) on the M6 - we waited three days for it to be repaired. Then my husband flew out to Dubai to work for three months. He came home in March and said "It's cold." Yeah, right...while he'd been away I had to endure temperatures of minus 28! Everything in the house froze, the dog took to sleeping on my bed for warmth, the two cats, hogged the woodburning stove and boiler, and yours truly went round in three pairs of socks and a hat! |

| We still have mini patches of snow in areas that don't get the sun, but we are now having spring!! Michigan has really been hard hit with winter after winter this year. My snow was measured in inches, but Mich. is getting feet every time it snows!! It is about like that in the mountain passes here, but not in the lowlands. Today we had sunshine and NO precip!! Jenny, I certainly don't envy you moving into the snow!! And hubby wasn't even there to cuddle up to for warmth!! |
