I think it's still asleep. Must be a boring topic. |

| I just went back to see what was being discussed and saw comments by Dick and Carol. I never read an update about Shelagh's hip husband. Is his hip fully recovered? |

| Yes, Abe. Thanks for asking! The hip is working well and my husband is back playing golf. We had a set back earlier this year when an old knee injury resulted in keyhole surgery. He hobbled around for a few weeks but the knee has made a good recovery and is getting stronger every day.
I hope you and Gisela have recovered from your respective surgeries and are both back to enjoying a full life! |

| Thanks Shelagh. I went to visit Gisela yesterday in the Black Forest where she is on a 3-week Rehab. She's looking and feeling good. |

| Abe, that sounds like a novel - visiting your wife in the Black Forest. It almost seems like it should be accompanied by a mystery.
Perhaps it's because when we were young and fearless, we slept in the back of our VW hatchback in the Black Forest while on a holiday break when we lived in Butzbach. |

| I think you're right. Mysteries of the Schwartzwald (Black Forest).
Sleeping in the back of a VW gives an image of small people. |

| I'm laughing at how every day Publish America seems to add another 100 "likes" to their Facebook page. The AW crowd must be chewing on their knuckles. |

| Chewing on their knuckles? Do they have anything better to do? I've written 42,594 words of the follow up to Mr. Planemaker's Flying Machine. It has taken me six years to get round to writing a sequel. I can't blame PublishAmerica for my lack of motivation. I know myself well enough to realise that no one would be able to stop me if I was determined to do it. The determination wasn't there. Now it is, and I'm making the most of it.
AW bashers are so weak and keen to blame everybody else for their own shortcomings. Instead of moaning and groaning, they should be busy writing the next great American novel. Somebody else will if they don't. |

| I got off my duff because a friend referred me to PublishAmerica. I think all the self-publishing opportunities today make them unnecessary; but everyone doesn't know how to access other routes.
I attended a Press Club meeting last evening with several authors that self-publish. Their books are quality formats. They pay an editor, a cover artist, a printer, and others for their books. They self-market. One woman said she has spent much more money than she ever got back... |
