Good stuff to eat - twice Empty
PostSubject: Good stuff to eat - twice   Good stuff to eat - twice EmptyThu Feb 05, 2009 12:01 pm

My favorite foods are best when reheated. Several times, maybe. Here is a guide to good eating:

Spaghetti - sauce should simmer on the stove all day, every day.
Macaroni & cheese - always reheat at least once so it is crisp and dry.
City chicken - reheat, reheat, reheat.
Corned beef hash - homemade only. Reheat until crisp.
Pork & saurkraut - reheat again and again.
Cookies - rarely need reheating.
Ice cream - best when not reheated

Other than those seven items, food should not be consumed. Cooks serving anything fried should be executed on the spot.

The weather is so cold here, soup seems to be constantly simmering on the stove. Ice cream is off the menu.

CAN'T ARGUE WITH SUCCESS--If it got you thorugh Normandy and years of writing--dealing with Publishers, etc.--it must be the ideal diet for writers .

Now you are making me jealous--sure wsh I'd been a writer. The Mac and cheese makes me hungry and it kills acountants.

My life now hangs in the balance--went to see my world-famous Pancreatic surgeon this morning-he said I don''t need to come back until June of 2010.
I said, "Oh good I am so happy"--then I said, "Oh no better watch out my doctor is not worrying about me, I must be gonna die."

Dave and I were vey happy as we drove home --if we could have foreseen the future 5 years ago, we could never have believed that things woud be so rosy.

Several years ago, a co-worker asked me why I just didn't kill myself.

My reply "Suicide is against my religion. As long as I live, there is hope,
God can perform a miracle and save me. If I kill myself I will be dead."

Never ever give up! Things can get better. Laughing

Or worse. But I'm glad you're doing well, Alice.

Hey, what about me? It's only noon and already I've inspired Jackie to anger at least twice. That doesn't even count the times she has started sentences with, "I wish you'd . . ."

Dick,

You are funnin us--I don't believe you. Jacke is too nice to get mad at you.

Is Jackie the mother of your daughter?

I am getting relationships sorted out today. Laughing

No, my first wife is Susan's mother. She had a small son before we were married. He was severely wounded in Vietnam and died two years ago. My second wife had three young children. She died last year. Jackie had two grown daughters when we were married more than 32 years ago. Susan, who will be 54 this month, has four children. Fortunately they live a couple of thousand miles away but I saw one of them once when she and Susan were here. That's about it.
