| I just learned that Ron Kruger has passed. Many of you will remember him on former author's forums. He authored the book: A Higher Good. His posts on FB were related to his activities living in the wild. Fishing was his passion and many of his posts showed pictures of his success. I believe that his final days were spent doing what he enjoyed most and I trust that his transition and transformation into the next world is as he wanted it to be. |

| Thanks for posting this, Abe. I remember Ron and his photography well. He preferred the simple life and was never drawn towards consumerism. |

| What was his cause of death? He died early and fast. |

| I'm not sure, Alice. One post on FB said it was either a heart attack or a stroke. Getting accurate information may take some time. Perhaps someone may direct us to a news story. He was well-known within the outdoor sports arena. He wrote numerous articles for one such magazine. I took his book off the shelf and began reading it again, last night. It is amazing how much more I absorbed from his book than reading it the first time. If you have a copy of his book, I recommend reading it again. His NDE is real and revealing on various aspects of life and the life hereafter. His religious take on these issues are also of interest for the reader. There were some on FB that wanted to know where they could find a copy of his book. I did a search and found the following: https://www.amazon.com/Higher-Good-Ronald-Kruger/dp/1413781667 |

| I did a search for obituaries in Missouri, but nothing showed for Ron. A post on FB said that a neighbor found him in dead in his bed. |

| It is difficult to get over the passing of people we knew or know. We formed a kinship over time even with those we never personally met. I think about Ann Joiner, Carol Trostler, Dick Stodghill, Don Stephens and now Ron Kruger. We have memories that remain. With some, we knew that they were ill while with others it was more of shock with the manner of their death. The books they wrote are a lasting memorial. I'm reminded of the saying: "What you say, disappears. What you write, stays." I am well into the re-reading of Ron's book, "A Higher Good". This book means much to me. I had recommended this to my friend, Martin Weaver when he revealed his intent to commit suicide while suffering from cancer and knew that he would not survive. He expressed his thanks for the book and said that it helped him deal with his sickness. He died of the cancer and not by his own hand. Regrets don't help, but they remain thinking that we could have done more. It makes us aware of the living. We know not what tomorrow may bring. Did we do enough to help another person? Did we miss some signal that they were suffering? Thanks for listening. I appreciate the love and support you have shown to me. |

| I found the forum again with Shelagh's help on Facebook. She told me to bookmark it but I am not that talented, alass.
Anyway, I felt sad at the passing of each of our colleagues and this one too. It's one more reminder that life is transient and we need to value each moment and each person who passes our way. I have loved this forum and the friends I've made here, sorry to see so many leave. Glad each of you is still here and well. |

| DK, There should be a star or similar icon on the URL bar of your browser. If you click it, the forum will be added to your favourites. I'll link you to a site showing you how. I just need to know the browser you use: Firefox, Explorer, Chrome etc. |

| I hadn't heard of Ron's passing until just now. The last I knew of him he posted on Facebook that he had lost his dog in the woods on one of his fishing trips. A day or two later he posted that he still hadn't found him, and he was quite upset. And then I saw no more posts.
I'm very sorry to hear of his passing. He seemed like a good man, and I know he was a good writer. |
