PostSubject: Definition of Synchronicity   Definition of Synchronicity EmptySat Mar 01, 2014 11:15 am

Earlier today, I was reading a totally unrelated book which referenced Carol Pearson's Embracing Coincidence: Transforming Your Life through Synchronicity  (apparently aka Consider the Butterfly):

Quote :
Synchronicity is religion without dogma, wherein all are free to draw their own conclusions from personal experience.  Each man is his own priest; each woman, her own priestess.

(Quoting from Synchronicity and You by Frank Joseph)

I am a Carol Pearson fan, but this work was new to me

Funny thing is, just yesterday, something came up that called me to pull the first book of Carol Pearson's that I had read, The Hero Within: Six Archetypes We Live by, off the shelf to reread a few pages; it was a book that I referenced more than once in A Myth in Action.  It was still sitting in front of me when I happened upon the reference.  So I checked on Amazon, and seeing I could download the Kindle version for $3.88, I did, and am now getting engrosssed in reading it.

Just had to stop and share the definition of a term that I use here regularly.

Will post more about the new book (for me, anyway) as I read.

1st installment:  As I started reading the book I realized two things.  This book was the perfect one for me to be reading right now; the second was that the author is not the same Carol Pearson whom I have read before.  If I had known that, I probably wouldn't have taken the time to look into this book, and wouldn't have bought it.

That, in itself is something of a synchronicity.

Dear Ann,
I always like things that take me out of what I expected....my comfortable expectations...kind of "petting my mind" expectations.

I love that new perspective.  Whether it be a child writing or something famous that I had not read before that gives me a little winky blinky kind of smile.
Love,
Betty

Is it another way of saying one is "spiritual" rather than "religious"?
