MY DR.'S OPINION NOT GOOD ! HEART DR. APPT.Tests-Who Knows?

                   We'll today I saw my Dr., what he told me I wasn't happy about !
                    I've known for a week now my ankles and feet are swelling ! It's
                    due to my Congestive Heart Failure , he recommended a drug
                    called Lasix a water pill, I know this drug because my Mother took
                    it 20 yrs ago, it totally drained her...I'm not too happy about having
                    to take it. He also made an appointment for a Cardio Echo Gram and
                    for me to have a one on one with a heart specialist , I'm really upset.

Get the treatment Joe and avoid the tendancy to expect the worst.  Keep a positive outlook.  Healing begins in the mind.

As we age, it is a common ailment to have congestive heart failure - the heart just wears out from age - and we just have to treat it and keep a healthy lifestyle.  Stopping smoking is the kindest thing you have done for yourself.  There are foods and herbs that help release the fluid from the body also - by reading up on those your swelling may reduce naturally and your physician will be able to prescribe smaller dosages of the Lasix.

Lifestyle affects fluid retention and fluid retention is hard on the heart as well as a symptom of heart issues.  Here are the things I have read to make a major difference in fluid retention:  Drink water as the only liquid; avoid salt; avoid sugar (also causes fluid retention); eat unsweetened cranberries and dark green vegetables; exercise by walking, swimming, biking etc. each day for at least ten minute intervals to equal 30 minutes but 30 consistent minutes is best; avoid alcohol; avoid tobacco products (hooray for you!); and there's more if you look up natural ways to reduce fluid retention on the Internet.  These are just some I remember.

                            Thanks or the info, I have to look it up. Today is 40 days smoke free !
                            I'm on #14 patch for two weeks then #7 patch for another two weeks.
                            I don't use sugar , I use Purevia, I have to slowly cut out salt, so I'll be
                            using Italian Herbs.

If you have a Costgo I understand (I don't go there myself) they have a gigantic bottle of organic herbs minus the salt that is great for seasoning everything...
