| 5/3/2013 Who's your favorite store ? And Why ? Mine , JC Penny's, they've finally came back, I received a $10- Coupon in the mail plus when I was in the store I opened a new account and got an extra 20% off, so I spent $55.00 - $10- = $45- less 20% = 9.00 = $36- not bad for two shirts priced on sale for $24.99 ea and a tee shirt for $5-. Now which is your favorite store and why ? Cheers.. Joe.. |

| Nordstrom. I love their clothes and shoes. I kept our son in footware from them. He had/has big feet--size 18. I like JC Penny's and Macy's too. Harrod's is fabulous. |

| When I had the income, Nordstroms was my favorite. The quality of their clothes, the variety and the customer care policies including returns and fixing problems made them a cut above everyone else. I no longer have even sufficient income for their sales.
They put a Nordstroms in Naples, and I was happy. When I went in the store, it only had the most expensive clothes and very few of those, more like a boutique store. The sales people said the amount of space in the shopping center controlled the offerings in the store. I think the economy in Naples - high end - controls the content. I've never been back. |

| I never shop online. I still like to see what I am getting!!
My next favorite store was K-Mart because it had everything, I didn't have to worry about paying too much, and it was close. It just closed. Now I have to drive six miles north or south for a Target or Walmart for the same type of store.
What I especially liked about K-mart was their bottom line sales. In July, almost all the clothing drops first to 4.99 then 3.99 and on down to 1.99. I always found a few things at $1.99 that I had seen months before as much as $25 - worth waiting for.
As I am becoming more conscious of the sweat shops overseas that produce goods not just for the K-marts, walmarts and Targets but also for the branded clothes, I am looking at labels more carefully.
A friend of mine who thought she was buying Italian made shoes at a very high price was surprised when the salesman said they were the same as when made in Italy since it was the same specs that were sent to - China. Right. The same mehs may be sent, but they still are just a bit different in fit.
Beall's had a cute, inexpensive sandal that looked quite nice in many colors. A couple years ago they had glue on the souls where the straps connected and just didn't look good - they looked unfinished. They probably found a new country to make them cheaper. |

| The older I get, the less I'm into shopping. I used to like Dillard's. It's a department store chain that started here in SA, then branched out to Houston and Dallas. I understand they are pretty much everywhere now except for the northernmost states. They had a very nice store in a mall not far from my home in Houston. I did nearly all of my shopping there, but stopped going to malls after I moved here There is a unique little center about five miles from my house called Artisan's Alley - boutiques, gift shops, and a restaurant that is rated one of the best in Texas. They serve these mini-meals, and you can order several for the table - it's a bit like a tapas restaurant but the meals are slightly larger. Very pricey, but Lynn and Chris like it, so we do family night there once in a while - on them. But now that the little strip center just outside my subdivision has added a Ross, I have to work hard to stay away. It's a discount store, kind of like Marshall's. I go crazy in those places - so many bargains! |

| The stores here have more than clothing. Linens, bath, kitchenware and china, gourmet foods, small furinture items, books, you name it - all at 50 -70% below retail prices.
Other than that, I usually shop online. |

I so love this bag. At the time I bought it, I also bought three Daytimer planners - all the same rough leather Loden Green. I have a pair of rough leather loden loafers, to - my everyday shoes. I have replaced the insides twice. The outsides seem to be holding up nicely, with a bit of care. don't know what I will do when they finally fall apart. I've stopped buying planner pages. I make my own now, on word. what do you thing of them? |

| I seldom shop at J. C. Penny's. I remember in my twenties, though, I was a that era's size 9 which I think was considered a "jr." Penny's often had dress sales and for $5 I could pick up dresses that looked spiffy right off the rack and find a pair of pumps to go with them for work and school.
One other time Penny's was important to me. I drove three hours from Naples to Tampa just in time to give a presentation to of all things, a bunch of police officers - only I had left my bag with my dress in it hanging over the door jam at home. I had twenty minutes before my presentation.
Penny's was across the street from the hotel. I ran there and grabbed a clerk in dresses and told her my dilemma. She found me the perfect dress in a perfect fit, hose, and shoes in about five minutes. I dressed in the store, paid my reasonable bill and ran to the room where I was just on time to begin. |

| The gift shop at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle is very good too. After my bypass surgery, I was in rehab. My grandchildren were coming to visit and I wanted to have something for them. I went to the shop and found adorable animals. I said I wanted to charge them on my charge card. They said it could not be done. I went back to my room and called the gift shop and asked if they did phone orders. The answer was," Certainly." I said, "Bring the items to my room." I then spit out my credit card number and authorization code by memory. The grandchildren were thrilled with their gifts. |

| I never shopped at Penny's, their clothes always seemed "matronly" to me. Sears is having financial troubles and I'll be sorry to see them go even though I've only shopped there for the occasional hardware or appliance purchase.
If favorite store is decided by frequency of visits, I guess Walmart is my favorite. |
