| Do you like your middle name? Do you ever use it or just put the initial? Just curious as usual? |

| It was my dad who had the problem. Mom wanted to name me after her beloved gg-grandmother (Ailcy's Daughter), but my dad never liked the first name, so Mom had to promise she would not use it. |

| My middle name is Mamie--I have never liked it and would have preferred Marie. I use M instead of the name.

| :)Dear Alice,
I have a sister named Mamie Sue. She goes by Sue.
My first name is Maryann. Most people call me Bets. I answer to all three but my favorite is Sweatheart. That is what my David calls me.
Love,
Betty |

| Almost all of my close friends and family know me as "Dan" (or Danny/Dani for those who have known me forever). It must confuse people who only know me professionally when I occasionally sign my emails as "Dan," out of habit. Victor wears suits and writes books and articles on law. Dan writes the fiction and poetry, sings out loud and plays the synthesizer (poorly) and guitar (nearly as poorly), loves movies, cooking and sharing good food, and can talk on the phone for hours with his closest friends and family like the average 13 year old girl. He also writes most of these posts while Victor waits in the background looking at his watch and waiting to get back to work on "important" things.

| Dan is a wonderful name. We named our son Dan.
It is funny how that worked. Dan was late by two weeks.
Dave said the first week he was to be Dan, the second week, Scott
On the way to the hospital, I asked, " What shall we name him?"
Dave answered, " Dan."
I said, "This is the Scott week."
"I changed my mind" |

| Mine is Jacqueline. Thank God Penny Deerhill isn't my real name - it doesn't flow with my real name (Carolyn Brown) either, but Penny would be worse. |

| As I mentioned on another post, my middle name is my mother's maiden name, "Firestone". In one position I had, I used the name: A. Firestone March. Abraham Firestone March is long and often caused more questions. I decided to eliminate this confusion and go by Abe F. March Abe, as in Abe Lincoln. "F" as in Frankenstein and March like the month.
See, no confusion whatsoever.

| My husband was a Jr., his son is III. None of the three had a middle name. So often, correspondence comes with their first name, "nmn" and last name. Computers just could not imagine nmn.
I changed my name to D. K. Christi because it was just too long a misspelled. Now, only Christi is sometimes spelled Christie, otherwise, no confusion.
Except facebook and gmail. They insisted I fill in the blanks with a "real" first and "middle" name besides the letters. So, I put Dee Kay for each of them, not realizing they would initially give me Dee Kay Christi as my ID name. After much futzing around, I managed to get them DKChristi and DkChristi with no periods. I guess that's a combined first, middle and last that the computer understands? |

| I am confused--what is your name--Dee Kay Christi and why wouldn't a computer accept it?
It seems fine to me. |
