Looks like democracy in action....people's democracy. However, there's still a lot of money at play.

Their republican governor and republican state house passed laws to forbid state employees from organizing into unions in addition to other legislation on the ultra conservative agenda that is being implements against the working class across the country (same dispute going on in Washington about FAA - may shut it down again).

Voters managed to force a recall election for six republican representatives. The vote is tonight. It's a sort of referendum on the Republican Governor. Over $40 million have been spent on campaigns that usually spend $8 million. Imagine how much food $32 million would buy - $40 million spent on a dirty campaign - mud slinging mostly. Vote is now.

Sounds awful. I think people are beginning to regret what they have unleashed--hope so, anyway.

The exciting thing is that in Wisconsin the voters have taken their power in hand and are in action at the ballot box. That is the potential strength of this country. We have our revolutions at the ballot box - and can. We just have to feel our power in the political process and use it. The power is local first, then up to the nation.

http://news.yahoo.com/wisconsin-recall-fight-republicans-hold-line-091000840.html

Liberals spent tens of millions of dollars trying to remove Republicans who were elected precisely because they promised to balance Wisconsin's budget. That kind of money is up there with what corporate lobbyists spend. How is this "democracy in action?"

Man, don't mess with people's entitlements. They'd rather see the whole country go broke then admit their pensions, health care, and welfare entitlements are unsustainable.
