| We moan and groan, but is there anyway we can help someone, anyone?
My mother -in-law took a homeless man under her wing and gave him money, pumpkin pie and kind words. She told us about him and also told us his name was Ron. After her second broken hip, we found him and donated to his cause. We should probably look him up again. What do you think?
Dave's barber said people cut their own hair now. Maybe those with means should spend to help provide jobs.
I wish the very wealthy would spend their tax cuts instead of hoarding them. The banks are helping no one. We don't want the govt to spend. Ideas, please?

Sorry I didn't see this I was out in the garden feeding Gertrude and Heathcliff the morning doves along with the sparrows , hungry little bums..
I don't think anyone has the answer, I don't think Politicians give a dam about the working class of this country, it boggles my mind to know that there are 16 Million people out of work ! Many companies don't want to hire so they use less employees who have to do double work plus they'll make more of a profit. I know I worked in retail, at first they hire over 100 people then within a month it was down to 35 people and when they opened the store in the morning there were only less than 10 people.
I think the Govt. should have re-training programs , retrain people in other fields, the health care industry is growing by leaps and bounds...Children need to be taught and I mean taught, so why not train people to be teachers, the children of this country need education, the more teachers we have the better.
Cheers..Joe |

| Stopping wars, which shuts down the defense industry, causes another set of economic problems. It's a cycle that feeds on itself. It used to be that a war pulled us out of an economic decline. It put everybody to work and conditioned everybody to do with less. Shortages, gas rations, victory gardens, Rosie the Riveter, air raid wardens, do your part, there's a war on. I don't think it can ever work that way again. |

| It seems to me that very little of the way things used to work will ever work again. We live in a different world. The shift from the Agricultural Era to the Industrial Era had a lot of problems, but the change was not nearly so rapid as this from the Industrial into Information. Much of the answer, I would think, begins with the realization that our worldview has permanently changed.

On another point, no one does anything about the gas prices ! They've talked about this since the 1970's I know in 1978 I was stuck on gas lines ! Here today gas is $3.05 a gallon, if gas goes to $5.00 a gallon no one would be able to drive, food will skyrocket, do you see anyone in Washington talking about this , no ! We need Congress to declare an emergency, roll back prices back three years and no increases for five years ! But they don't have the KAHONAS to do this, their afraid of the oil cartel !

| Joe, Why have we not cut our consumption and dependence on foreign oil? We have had plenty of warning. The minute an oil crisis ends the gas hogs reappear. |

Alice..
Their still building large cars and people are driving them ! When gas hits, $5-,$6-,$7- a gallon watch they'll trade them in for smaller cars...Can you picture millions of mini coopers on the highway , I own a Ford Focus, great on gas....I like when I read Europeans saying Oh we pay a high price for gas for years, but they don't understand the USA is a big country, some people travel miles just to get to work......

| I received the following in an email from my daughter this morning. Don't know the source, but if it is important, I'll inquire. Comments are attributed to Bill Maher.:
"Only 42 percent of Republicans believe Obama was born in the United States. That's an amazing statistic. How come in America Christians are the only ones who won't take anything on faith?" —Bill Maher
"I will show you President Obama's birth certificate when you show me Sarah Palin's high school diploma." —Bill Maher
"The problem is that the people with the most ridiculous ideas are always the people who are most certain of them." —Bill Maher
"If conservatives get to call universal healthcare 'socialized medicine,' I get to call private, for-profit healthcare 'soulless, vampire bastards making money off human pain.'" —Bill Maher |

| Abe,
True and sad. Lies and rumors are hard to stop.
It is particularly vexing to see Christians leading the parade of msinformation. Where is our separation of church and state?
Religion and politics are not a good mixture.
