| How old do your children have to be before you stop worrying about them? Susan will be 42 tomorrow. I still worry. She and her husband are in the process of moving from here to Colorado Springs. Actually, Jim has been there for about a month already, working with NORAD. Susan won't be moving until the end of the semester in mid-December, but is spending Thanksgiving week there. I got a text from her around noon today, saying she was leaving Plainview and had about seven hours to go. I hadn't realized she would be driving - alone. I've been kind of on edge all evening. I finally got another message about a half-hour ago, saying she had arrived. It reminded me of the time she was in college. I would insist that she call me whenever she arrived back at school after trips home. Once the secretary at my school stopped by my classroom, laughing, and said Susan had called to let me know that she hadn''t splattered her brains on the highway somewhere. It's nice to know she still thinks of her Mom. I'm guessing she might have been a bit nervous herself, and wanted to touch base. Anyway, I guess they never stop being our "children." Ann |

Ann..
A Mother is a Mother. You remind me of when I used to drive from Manhattan to Brooklyn to see my Mom. When I left it was at night and she say: " Don't Forget to call me when you get home !. I would say: " Oh Mom, I'm 36 years old." She would say: " I'm your Mother, anything can happen !" I would drive home and not call her and the next day she would call me and give me hell.. Even today at 62 I still miss that, she died 20 years ago at 63, she would have been 84. I still miss that phone call. So Ann I understand, your daughter Susan should appreciate she has a Mom that cares........
Cheers..Joe |

| Ann, Like Joe says," A mother is a mother." I still worry about my kids. You are perfectly normal. |

| It was a whole lot worse before the age of cell phones! I worried about my daughter driving across country by herself when she was moving from Massachusetts to California--especially near the Texas/Mexico border. We stayed on the phone for about an hour and a half as she drove through what I felt was the dreaded area. All went well, and I was "with her" along the way. |

| My 90 year old mother-in-law worries about us and we worry about her. We are in our 60's. Gives us something to do I guess. |

| Actually, I felt flattered that she included me. We have had some difficulties in the past, as long-timers here might know.
It seemed to be her way of telling me she loved me, and still thought of me as Mom.

| All I know is Ann if I stop worrying then I'll feel my pulse. My 2 year old grandaughter was admitted to hospital last night after falling from a dinning room chair and knocking herself out. We are waiting for news and I am worrying a little. |

| I am worrying about our daughter and her familly. They were here for grandma's 90th birthday so decided to spend Thanksgiving with friends in Atlanta. I haven't heard a peep from them which is highly unusual. |
