| Hi Alice. Just wondering about your picture. You hold a furry duck. Why do you hold this in your picture? Did you win it or are you just fond of these kind of toys? |

Thank God ! Pelosi is out, this is one witch I wouldn't miss ! Now maybe the democrats will drop their left wing agenda, and play ball. Like stop those two stupid wars, help the small business people, help the middle class un-employed get jobs, give the seniors the increase they haven't gotten for two years. Now maybe Obama and the democrats will know who is in charge " The American people, when they get mad, they get pissed ! A new American Revolution has started just like in 1776, we're mad as hell and we're not going to take it anymore. Obama hear this : " The Left Wing Agenda is Dead, so listen to the American people their wiser than you are.
Cheers..Joe |

Abe..
Put it this way, the democrats haven't done a dam thing to help the middle class, not one thing except to do major bailouts, they should have never done it, during the depression no one was bailed out if you failed that was it....So I feel the republicans deserve a chance, maybe now the democrats will listen and listen hard....It's we the people not we the politicians, because if all else fails trust me there will be a 2nd revolution in this country..
Cheers...Joe |

| Now that the Republicans are in charge--they will have to do something except obstruct.
Good!
If they can fix the mess--more power to them. I am not going to hold my breath though. It will be their turn to be criticiczed and maligned at every turn. Time will tell. |

Alice
Time will tell, just like the democrats said a week or so ago, they felt sorry for the seniors not getting a raise this year and next year, they'll give every senior $250- to help them, out not till after the elections, we'll I'll make a bet, they'll come out in the next few days and say Oh we don't have the money....
Cheers..Joe |

| Once again, Social Security and Medicare, the backbone that saves seniors from dying in abject poverty, these were not Republican programs.
The seniors who voted for Republicans in this election need to return their Social Security checks and pay for their own medical insurance to show how they can take care of themselves without government intervention. Instead they are crying because they didn't get a "raise." Give me a break! Increases are tied to a formula; the formula dictated no increase.
The wealthy also need to not accept their social security checks and medicare insurance since they truly can take care of themselves. Believe me, my Republican friends of wealth are the first to do a happy dance when they can draw that Social Security check for their "fun money."
Today's problems will not be solved by yesterday's solutions. Though history can be instructive, it is the visionaries of today and tomorrow who will lead this country into a new era. Visionaries do not go backward; they go forward.
I am also sick of the Republican mantra that they are the patriots. Patriots seek solutions not tear the country into shreds and polarize people into hate groups.
All said, if it wasn't for their radical leanings, there were a couple Republicans elected that do have some positive track records and potential as legislators if they can get past the mantra it took to get elected. I am sorry for the change in the Congress. The only class of people doing exceptionally well are the wealthy, better each year in fact. At least the Democratic Congress was struggling to present solutions. All the Republicans will do is work hard to cancell all that has moved forward. There is no middle class; that was stamped out during the Bush Administration. There's only the super rich and the struggling masses.
A wealthy, developed country like ours with no universal health care coverage is a disgrace. At last, we had a start. Shame, shame on the American people for their stupidity. |

| Joe,
The Republicans will not allow $250 to be given to the Social Security Recipients. They would rather give a tax cut to a rich person.
Their trickle down economics does not work.
President Obama was to stay out of everyone's life until the oil spill. Then he was to be there round the clock fixng it. |

| I didn't even mind a Republican governor; my heart is still for fiscal conservatism and smaller government. It's just that this one bought his election and comes from running a corporation in healthcare where he took no responsibility for the medicare fraud in which they were engaged. He is slippery. A slogan man to the last minute who bought a second career when he had to get out of the first one because of fraud. Yikes.
Also, while Republicans "claim" to seek smaller government; the commentator on FOX news stated that the largest growth in government in the history of the United States came under Republican administrations. That was from the mouth of their own about 30 minutes ago.
I fear for the immigrants. I fear for those working at the poverty level. Any savings will be on the backs of the poorest and least able to speak for themselves. Pity. The gap between the wealthy and the struggling will continue to grow.
The time to cut government is not in dire times when there are so many needy; the time to reduce government is in boom times when services are not needed. The U.S. citizens did this to themselves. Pity. However, Florida is rampant with retirees for whom the mundane issues of everyday life are taken care of by someone else. They just want to pay less taxes on the beachfront condo. They don't need schools. They don't need services. Florida already has some of the lowest taxes in the nation and no inheritance tax. |

| Since there is nothing else we can do, we might as well sit back and enjoy the show. Let them fix the mess. They helped create it and this ought to be good. I am guessing they will want cooperation. |

Why do you fear for immigrants? They don't come here unless sponsored, which means they have jobs, presumably good ones. And they go through other checks. Do you think they're taking away jobs from US citizens, then, and that there will be some sort of mass uprising against them? |

| I fear for everyone.
The poor think they will have jobs.
The rich think they will retain their wealth.
Good luck to all--we will need it. As for the immigrants--why come here? Maybe we should go there! |
