Is it mandatory that your friends agree with you? Sometimes by being exposed to a different viewpoint, one can see another side to an issue.

No, to answer your question. My children think I am a wack job most of the time. I do not care about that because they do love me, whack job or no. I love them unconditionally. That is the way love is. You do not have to have eyes locked onto eyes and brains reduced to the same soup to love each other. What a wonderful thing the brain is in it's many perceptions of reality and it's grasp of love. I think it is the real miracle of life.

Thing is, we are not all joined at the hip. We don't have to see things the same way all the time. In fact, I think that each of us has an obligation to go out and explore the world, and come back and tell others what we saw, and they will tell us about their experiences, and we put them together like pieces of a puzzle, and when enough people add their pieces, we get a clearer picture and broader view.

Pretty hard right now. I'm leaning Democrat in a sea of Republican friends. I really have trouble with their sound-bite thinking. I want them to view my facts that should lead to them to reaching my same conclusions. Doesn't seem to work that way. Keeps me scrambling for more facts, anyway.

Agreeing that other peoples perspectives have value doesn't mean you have to accept them as being true from yours. Putting our perspectives together gives us a broader view, but one that is still incomplete. It doesn't mean you have to vote the same way.

I agree often with a few members on this forum. I don't always make a post to say so. Is that wrong? Perhaps a "ditto" icon would help.

Of course I disagree often with a few others on this forum. What Icon would represent that without being obscene?

the goblin only wanted people to agree with him when he was wrong, such was his weakness here, otherwise he was wanting them to try and prove him wrong feeling his argument was sound enough, saying "...for example, I bought a sony ebook reader yesterday on the cheap, tactile, with mp3 player too, and 20hours battery life...", not that that the goblin had any time to read books, but for jotting down ideas in an instant it was just perfect, as a notebook then, saying "...so could you please agree with me that I did the right thing then..."
