There are two prominent masterpieces of the e past literature,
they are The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck, and the Quiet flow the
Don by Mihail Salohov.

I have seen certain similarity between these two books, both
of them telling the story about the people who forced to leave their
traditional lifestyle and bow to the new era which meant exile for
the American peasants by driving them out to the road livingthere like
gipsies.

' That's,' so, the tenant said, Who gave your order? I'll go after him. he is the one to kill.'
' You 're wrong. He got his order from the bank. The bank told him: Clear those people out or it's your job'

And to the Cossack in south Russian who were forced reject
their traditional life and join to the Kolhos like.

Where is the great one who will write the great epic novel from our
time? That Im waiting to come.

Harry, I remember a really good book, which was made into a so-so movie, called Taras Bulba. It was about the Cossacks and their wars with the Poles, who were moving into the Steppes, if I remember correctly. Are you familiar with it?

Yes, that's the one, and Tony Curtis played one of his sons. I was very impressed with Brynner's portrayal of Bulba, but thought the son was miscast.
