| They liked the zero sales so much, they sent me notice twice. They have sloppy bookkeepers. |

| My royalties from PA cannot be measured in coin - that was my school where I learned and learned and learned both from the process and from the wonderful people on the PAMB who shared their trials and tribulations, their discoveries and their camaraderie.
Once in awhile these days there's enough for a bag of groceries. My real hit, though, that I wouldn't have without the original hard copy published by PA and available at Amazon, is the Kindle version where it's release has continued to pay royalties, at a much higher percentage than the print copy. |

Do I need a lawyer to cancel my contracts for my four books ? Their demanding $100- per book to cancel ! This is worse than the Mafia ! Just found out I graduated, I was thrown off PA's board for saying their book prices are too high ! I guess their getting touchy !
Cheers..Joe |

| DK, "with every adversity there is a benefit" and that applies to the experience with PA. When I read posts by many PA authors I can see how they've grown over the years. They got a start with PA. What they did with that start varies. Some have moved on while others are still crying the blues. As for getting rich on PA Royalities, |

| I have two books beautifully put together, well edited by a professional friend, with gorgeous covers designed by my sister-in-law, read by some good people who wrote wonderful notes of support and learned about the Civil War in Missouri, who got to know my ancestors, and where I made a whole group of good friends with some good ideas for writing, and had written some fantastic books I enjoyed considerably. Nothing wrong with any of that! Carol |

| Carol,
You are so right. I like PA--they published me. I do wonder when my withholding form has been wrong one half of the time. though. I think they are overworked.
I also know accounting errors are common--have even made a few myself! |

I think this is genetic. The ones crying the blues are, no doubt, like that in every aspect of their lives. If you got to know them, you'd probably discover that they're overwhelmed with emotional, financial and/or relationship problems. I think PA serves as a "sock puppet" for their general life frustrations. Some people are able to weather problems, learn and move on. Others are overwhelmed and defeated by them. It's part of what makes successful people successful and unsuccesful people unsuccesful. In the large scheme of things, "losing" an unpublishable manuscript to a company with bad customer service is not one of life's great traumas. Unless you are the type that is not equipped to deal with it. |

Well, count the money you saved not buying water bottles and collector cards in the plus column. |

| If you want money--there are far easier ways to make it--at least in my experience. Writing is a labor of love. Artists and writers work hard for not much monetary return. It is far easier to donate money than generate it through book sales.

| Yes, Alice, I said that to LC a long time ago. Our friendships were the best thing to come out of our experience with PA. |

Shelagh......Alice..
Yes I have made many great friends through PA. Writers and Artists are the loneliest professions and the least paid, that's why for now I'm concentrating on my art and photography....
Cheers..Joe |
