Going for a small operation Empty
PostSubject: Going for a small operation   Going for a small operation EmptyTue Aug 10, 2010 2:01 am

Tomorrow 11th August I will be having an op on my knee.
A small procedure under general anaesthetic to sort out my painful knee problem.
I have the same problem in both knees and asked for both to be done but they will only do one knee at a time. So I shall emerge from the experience only half cured.

I sympathize with you David. One leg at a time is best. Hope the result is positive.

Be thankful you are not a woman, David. Once she had two perfect knees, everything else would seem imperfect and she wouldn't stop until she'd had a complete make-over. Vanity, vanity, all is vanity!

I once heard someone say, we always pray for the person going into surgery; we should also pray for the surgeon that it's his best day ever...

Dear David,
Knees are the most painful operation that I know of. My son-in-law had his knee replaced. He also had his hip replaced and the knee was the worst. Take the pain meds. I will be thinking of you. Do not try to be brave. Cry and get the best medication you can. It is important. After a couple of weeks, you will be on the mend.
Love,
Betty

One knee at a time; one step at a time. Take care and recover.

Hi all,
Thank you for you thoughts and prayers.
All went well and I am back up and hobbling around.
I now see why having both knees done was a no no.
Without some sort of a functioning leg to put weight on when getting up from a chair or out of bed I would be reliant on many servants to help.
My instructions from the doc are to rest for 3 days so I shall be house bound and a couch potatoe for a while.
Lucky that the weather today is rain, rain, rain. So I shall write a little watch a movie maybe and chat with my published authors extended family if you guy's don't mind that is?

David,

Wiggle your toes. too much sitting impairs your circulation.

You have to sit, so keep your toes going.

Hope you are better fast.

Best,

Alice

My son sent me a photo of me in the IC Unit.  I had not seen any photos of my hospital stay and it isn't pretty.  It shows my wife and daughter by my bedside.  It is something not easy to forget and something I don't want to repeat.
