What is this garbage. The woman was here illegally, ordered deported, but never left and continued living in public housing. How does an illegal immigrant get public housing?

The White House says its not helping with her legal fees (she has been allowed to stay after a second hearing). LOL, what legal fees, she's probably getting those pro bono, along with her health care (who's paying for her current medical treatment?).

I wasn't implying that Obama should get flack for anything. I'm commenting on the fact that an illegal alien who was supposed to be deported instead ended up living years in public housing. How common is this, I wonder.

We're always told that illegals aren't eligible for any social programs or benefits, so how does this square with that?

It's a lie. Illegals come to the US specifically for medical treatment some times.

I remember when my Mother became ill, 25
years ago with Congestive Heart Failure, she
had a helluva time trying to get help with drugs
she needed , they were expenisve, many times I
had to help her out, their reasoning was she had a
house, hello the dam house wasn't even paid for !
It took three years to get help from Medicaid , first
she wasn't eligable for Medicare, she got i'll at 57,
2nd my step-father was getting Social Security and
a small pension, they even put a lean on her house,
this is what happens to someone who paid taxes all
their lives, go by the rules , it sucks ! By the way she
died 5 years later at 63...

More common than we realize. Years ago I worked on a system to automate the administration of food stamps. The biggest problem they had was dealing with applicants who were ineligible and lied about their circumstances. More often than not they got the food stamps. When I wondered why the government doesn't take measures to better qualify applicants, I was told that if they spent the money it takes to do that, there'd be no money left for food stamps.

My daughter is a social worker in Pittsburgh. She says it's still the same.
