I have just finished the first read-through on the proof book for the vampire parody, Evenings on Dark Island.

I have a new appreciation for copyeditors. Seriously.

This book is POD and Kindle, so it is up to us to make it shine.
I have read it so many times, my eyes are crossing.New appreciation for editors Drunken_smilie One line at a time.
My critique group read it, too, and helped a lot. Still, the errors hide like cockroaches. I flip on the light, and they scatter.

Somebody shoot me.

Rhett,
you have the ability to turn a negative into a chuckle.

You have a special talent.

true...this is the first one I have done with POD and Kindle.

But, understand...this is our choice, and I am having FUN!
I feel--for the first time--that I have control. I like control.

I had some kind of weird epiphany after I lost my mother and sister in less than six months. I am tired of beating my head against the wall, waiting for the big publishers. I've had two books traditionally published, have an agent, the whole shebang. I've heard all the pros and cons.

I love to write. I love to share humor. I will find ways to make it happen.

So there. Had to get that off my chest. Feel much better now.
