| Subject: The How-To's Behind Book Trailers Fri Apr 18, 2008 8:14 am | |
| I am less than literate, and thought this might be of interest to our members. From an informative newsletter--permission to reprint at thebottom. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We've discussed using video to promote your book, and video can be very effective in terms of hitting readers' emotional hot buttons.
In terms of the "how-to's" - the size of the video doesn't really effect the loading - it is the size of the file that matters: A trailer should be no larger than 750 x 500 pixels. I recommend using Flash to keep the file manageable and easy to load - for example, Accidentally Engaged is 224 k - it loads quickly and has great resolution.
