The How-To's Behind Book Trailers

I am less than literate, and thought this might be of interest to our members. From an informative newsletter--permission to reprint at thebottom.

We've discussed using video to promote your book, and video can be very effective in terms of hitting readers' emotional hot buttons.

In terms of the "how-to's" - the size of the video doesn't really effect the loading - it is the size of the file that matters: A trailer should be no larger than 750 x 500 pixels. I recommend using Flash to keep the file manageable and easy to load - for example, Accidentally Engaged is 224 k - it loads quickly and has great resolution.
